All things of enduring quality evolve over time. The same will be
true of North Irvine. The city's incremental annexation of North
Irvine's 8,500 acres and The Irvine Company's phased and orderly
implementation of the area will take as many as 20 years.
Over the course of these two decades, North Irvine will emerge where
approximately 67% of its total acreage will be dedicated open space
and where neighborhoods, schools, parks and greenbelts will evolve.
New retail centers will serve the residents of the new
villages and neighborhoods. Commercial centers will be developed
to bring career opportunities to Irvine residents and prosperity to the
city's economy.
