Stonegate (9B)

The Majestic Loma Ridge will be the backdrop for this beautiful new community. Located across Irvine Boulevard from Woodbury, Planning Area 9B will be the future village of Stonegate.

There will be approximately 3,100 new homes in eight different neighborhoods, with home choices ranging from apartments and attached townhomes to large single-family residences. Residents will enjoy easy access to entertainment and shopping opportunities across the street in the village of Woodbury.

Stonegate has been designed so that each neighborhood is located around a park that will become the hub of that smaller community. Homes within the neighborhood will have a similar scale, and landscaped edges will shelter each enclave and reinforce the boundaries.

The park plan for Stonegate is a big part of why this village will be special. There will be a pool park centered in each neighborhood along with a variety of other amenities like tot lots, tennis courts, basketball and sand volleyball. A large central park is also planned with active sports fields to accommodate soccer and softball.

For those seeking the vast open spaces of Irvine and beyond, a major portion of the Jeffrey Open Space Trail will border the community on the west side, connecting to the city's larger network of trails.

A new elementary school is planned adjacent to the central park and connected to the entire village with trails linking to nearby neighborhoods. The school will be part of the acclaimed Irvine Unified School District.

Construction activities began September 2006. It is anticipated that model homes will be open fall 2008. For specifics on construction activities, please visit Construction Update 9B.
