Northern Sphere

The Northern Sphere will provide for much needed housing in a jobs rich region and jobs rich city. By utilizing surplus housing units previously planned but not realized in Irvine's earlier cycle of development, the Northern Sphere effectively utilizes these units to address a pressing regional need while assuring that Irvine's tradition of village level planning continues to create quality neighborhoods with a variety of housing choices and prices.

New villages in the Northern Sphere will mirror densities found in the nearby communities of Northwood and Northpark. The villages will incorporate a wide range of housing options including single-family detached homes, attached homes, and apartment homes. There also are plans to incorporate affordable housing. The number of units will meet the goals for affordable housing as outlined by the City of Irvine.
